Canon R and RP Video Settings for Video Calls and Home Recordings
Resolution and Frame Rates
This is the recommended resolution and frame rate for doing live sessions and recordings. You can choose to shoot in 4k resolution when doing recordings for a bit better quality. (I don’t recommend this for anything live).
Focus Settings
This is the focus setting that will be the best for your purposes. It allows for the camera to track your face, wherever you move. Make sure to hit the info button to make sure eye tracking is enabled as well.
Pictures Profiles
These are picture profiles. They change the colors/look of the image out of the camera. Standard should be the best for your purposes. You can also try the setting for “Portrait” if you’d like to experiment and see if you like the look better.
Exposure Settings
This is how the settings on the bottom should look when shooting. The “1/50, F1.8, and ISO” all relate to your exposure. If the camera is having difficulty keeping you in focus I recommend increasing the setting to “F2.8”. It will increase the Depth of Field or area which is in focus at any given time.
